A plumbing apprenticeship provides the chance to gain a nationally recognised qualification while being paid. Over the course of your four-year apprenticeship, you will work to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in MES Domestic Plumbing through a mix of real-life learning with your employer and training in your college or training centre.

  • Reading design plans
  • Installing new bathrooms and replacement showers
  • Diagnosing and rectifying faults in plumbing and heating systems
  • Installing renewable energy central heating and hot water systems
  • Mending leaks, unblocking drains, repairing toilets
  • Working with plastics and metals such as copper, aluminium, zinc and lead
  • Cutting, bending, welding and soldering piping

SNIPEF manage the training of plumbing apprentices ensuring a skilled workforce in the future.  Blair Plumbing & Heating Solutions Ltd work closely with SNIPEF.  Our apprentices attend Glasgow Clyde College for 3 years and gain experience on their fourth and final year of the apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

Potential candidates are expected to have a minimum of four National Four qualifications at General Level (previously Standard Grades). In addition, all candidates must pass the BPEC Aptitude and Selection Test.
